So, turns out Shopify isn’t as turn-key as you thought it would be? 🫠

Let Me Guess…

You’ve found yourself dabbling in the code editor, and you’re like, “Wait a minute… I’m literally a [insert product-based business here], not a web developer??”

Don’t get me wrong, Shopify is an amazing business platform. Some of the top businesses in the world sell their products on Shopify, so clearly, it’s working for them.

Buuut, it’s not so user-friendly to the average Jane. And if your brand’s digital storefront looks cookie-cutter and your customers keep abandoning their cart — you are currently selling yourself short.

When you have a product-based business,

There’s no dopamine hit quite like a “Order #1223 Confirmed!” email hitting your inbox.

Let’s call a spade a spade: cha-ching has a nice ring to it.

Your Shopify site’s job is to get people to… shop. And the way to get people to do that is by curating the vibes — both the visual aesthetics that make it feel like an extension of your brand and the actual experience which should be a thoughtfully designed path to purchase.

You wouldn't sell your products in a store exactly the way it was handed over to you, right? How you showcase them matters. And we're not settling for white walls and shelves when you could have a site that's just as unique as your products (and gets your dream customers going 💥💳💥💳💥💳).

INTRODUCING... 👀

The Pixel & Mortar

A fully custom Shopify design experience for product-based businesses who want a completely designed-for-you Shopify site that looks cool and gets those coveted ‘Buy Now’ clicks.

(Because, well… isn’t that kind of the whole point?)

Here’s the download on the Pixel & Mortar

With fully custom Shopify site design, we’ll create a website that’s just as cool and personality-packed as your products. With custom code, animations, and a strategy-backed design, your site will be a scroll-stopper that has your products flying off the (digital) shelves. No restrictive templates, no cookie-cutter layouts — just a shopping experience that feels like your brand and keeps your customers coming back for more.

    • Custom-coded design for up to 5 pages

    • Advanced e-commerce integrations for seamless shopping

    • Strategically designed layouts that guide customers to checkout

    • Custom animations & effects, AKA the little finishing touches that create a big wow factor

    • Mobile-responsive optimization for a non-frustrating shopping experience on any device

Your product isn’t like everyone else’s, and your online shop shouldn’t be, either.

There are two parts to the problem…

1. You want your website to look good

…and feel cohesive and aligned with your brand, but Shopify templates just aren’t cutting it.

2. You want to sell your products

It needs to be intuitive to navigate and not overwhelm customers with clutter and confusing layouts (because, after all, shopping is supposed to be fun and relaxing and not a stressful “I don’t know where to go” experience).

And when those two things come together — you have a functional, immersive brand experience that puts your product in people’s hands and sales in your Shopify dashboard. Sounds pretty good, right?

If you’re nodding your head yes to any of these, then The Pixel & Mortar could be just the thing to turn you into your website’s biggest fangirl*.

You’re fed up of your site feeling blah and boring and lowkey embarrassed that it doesn’t reflect the brand that you’ve worked so hard to build

You’re frustrated because you know your Shopify site is not Shopify-ing (meaning, converting in the way you know it could and should)

You really thought it’s something you could do yourself (with a little help from YouTube University) but you’re realizing you don’t have the skill (or, frankly, the time)

You’re annoyed by the limitations of Shopify templates (which feel like trying to build something out of the same three Legos, no wonder everyone’s all look the same.)

(*And we’ll def work well together if you’re also fangirl in general — coming from someone whose first entrepreneurial adventure was a Harry Styles-inspired online vintage shop.)

Hi, I’m Alissa — the professional vibe curator you need in your back pocket.

(So that you can have a bigger pocketbook 😉)

On top of being a Shopify website designer, I’m also a brand designer, which means I have a really good eye for looking at your project with a holistic branding lens.

Yes, conversion is important, but so is the way your website feels as an extension of your brand (because, spoiler: for people to stick around, it has to pass the vibe check).

Luckily, when you work with me, you don’t have to choose! You’ll have a site that does the most and looks good doing it. 💅

Got an eye 👀 for the details?

(Samesies as the kind of designer who will spend hours perfecting one section and the kind of thrifter who won’t rest until she’s gone through every rack.)

Here are the exact three phases of the client experience and exactly what you’ll get when we work together…

💭 Strategy

→ Shopify strategy workbook

Strategy is the starting point so that we can get super clear on what you want your website to do, and then the design will be created around that.

→ 60-minute strategy call

I should probably start referring to this as yap & map? Because that would be a cute way to describe it. This is when we’ll meet virtually and lay out your ideal site structure, shopping flow, and conversion opportunities.

🎨 Creative

→ Homepage first design approach

This is my signature thing that clients love. I’ll first create the homepage and send it over for review, so that we can make sure the vibe feels right before expanding to other pages.

→ Custom-coded theme

The Pixel & Mortar is a fully custom Shopify design experience! I’ll be doing website nerd stuff 🤓 like writing lines of code to give your site that je ne sais quoi that makes it unlike anyone else’s.

→ Mobile optimization

This is kind of a big deal because half of website traffic comes through a mobile device. It’s important that website viewers still have a 10/10 experience when browsing on their phone, and I’ll make sure that they do.

→ Custom animations and effects

Your website isn’t like the other girls! These are the special, finishing touches that will give your site a big wow factor.

🫶🏻 Handoff

→ Product set up & e-commerce integration

Of courseeeeee I’m going to do all of this for you! All of your products details will be added, organized, and easy for your customer to shop.

→ Two rounds of Revisions

You’ll have the opportunity to request refinements at two points during the project so that every detail is exactly the way you want it.

→ Quality Assurance & seo setup

When I’m done developing, I’ll go through every single user flow (third-party apps included) and ensure that every single detail is pixel-perfect! I’ll also make sure all SEO best practices are implemented so Google loves you.

→ Personalized training videos

What kind of service provider would I be if I just left you high and dry?! Obvi you’ll be getting personalized walk-through videos so you can confidently update your site post-launch.

If I can make a site for socks look this cool, imagine what I could do with yours.

Dew Health & Wellness’ Shopify site was built fully custom from a blank canvas with visuals and navigation to get visitors to stick.

Now’s the part where I answer that burning question 🧐

(And if the one you’ve got on your mind isn’t listed here, you can always send me a DM on → Instagram and I’ll get right back to you!)

  • Most projects take 6–8 weeks from kickoff to launch.

  • Yes! We can chat through options on your discovery call, but most projects are split up into 4-6 payments.

  • Nope! Whether you're migrating from another platform or launching your first site ever, I’ll guide you through it all.

  • Yes. You’ll want a logo, brand colors, and general visual direction before we begin.

Don’t have that yet? I offer brand design, too, and you get a 15% discount on your total project cost when you book them together!

More details on my services page!

  • Absolutely. You’ll get custom training videos so you feel confident making edits, adding products, or updating pages on your own.

  • It’s just me, and that’s kind of the ideal scenario for you! I'm your point of contact and the person actually doing the work — from strategy to design to website development.

(And IMO, that’s actually better than working with a big agency. There’s no getting passed around between departments or constantly waiting for updates. Your project will be personal and efficient without the agency price tag 💸.)

GET IN LOSER, WE'RE GOING SHOPIFY-ING

📢

GET IN LOSER, WE'RE GOING SHOPIFY-ING 📢

If you’ve read this far, you’re either really thorough (which I love as an eye-for-the-details kind of designer), or you miiiight have a case of the cold feet when it comes to investing in your Shopify website.

As any good business owner would (or one who’s nerdy for market research like me 🤓), I surveyed fellow shop owners who said that these were some of their hang ups:

“I don’t know if this will actually
fix my conversion issue.”

Here’s what I have to say about that — The Pixel and Mortar is designed with strategy in mind, not just aesthetics (get you a girl that can do both!). Your site won’t just look better, but it’ll be structured to guide customers seamlessly from landing to checkout.

I know strategy is often a buzzword people throw around without substance behind it, so here’s exactly how I do that —

I focus on intuitive navigation, clear calls to action, and a shopping experience that keeps customers engaged, so they’re more likely to buy.

“I’ve worked with a website designer before, and the process felt frustrating.”

If I had a dollar for every time I heard something like this, I’d definitely be able to buy myself a new Baggu. Website designers can get a bad rep, and if you’ve had a negative experience with someone in the past, I hope I can be your redemption arc!

I think the reason that happens is because many designers only focus on visuals without considering strategy, brand ecosystem, or how the site actually functions for customers. And as you’ve heard by now, my hill to die on is delivering clients a site that’s a totally custom brand experience and converts like crazy.

“I’m not sure if I should be spending my money on this right now.”

Outsourcing in your business is a big decision. Especially in these… ✨times✨... we’re living in. I get it! Here’s the thing though — if your website isn’t converting, it’s costing you sales.

In terms of investments, a website is something that you can actually see pay off. When your Shopify sales exceed the amount you put into it, then it was basically free (according to girl math, anyway).

Not to mention, I offer payment plan options, so you can split it however you see fit.

Pretty soon, you could have the keys to a fully-done-and-decked-out storefront.

Stop patching things up with DIY hoping it will get you by (or procrastinating your site altogether), and put it in the hands of an expert who will turn your Shopify site into the scroll-stopping storefront of your dreams.
